Missing You

Raindrops shine like snowflakes
in the glare of headlights.
The darkness ahead unravels
a little more as I drive.

Alone with the weeping skies,
swishing wipers for company,
wish there was one for my mind
that could wipe out memories.

Of laughter, and promises of
being together, our moments
of happiness, of your love
and sweet tenderness.

It was easy for you to leave.
To say goodbye as I cried
and wished you’d come back to me
long after the tears had dried.
